Default Best Buy Car Audio

I hadn't been to best buy ina while, but last week I noticed they completely got rid of their car audio department, no speakers no amps no decks,, I guess ina world with on star,, and Ipods, and satallite radio, best buy no longer needs that revenue. I thought it was crazy though and wonder what other car audio sectors have gone under?

I was also completely shocked!

It probably is a GREAT corporate move for them though.

It may be 6 years away but the aftermarket radio scene is going to take a HUGE hit. Gone are the days of a factory deck that just plain sucks.

With the integration of On star and Ford Sync no one is going to replace their factory head unit with anything that is not superior.

I did some research on newer head units a little while ago and they have come a long way. Almost EVERY manufacturer makes a double din touch screen with all the amenities.. That was not the case even 2 years ago.

Not much of a car audio guy to begin with but this is interesting. Never noticed that section missing. I really noticed how they have shrunk their Computer game selections.

I wonder how smaller car audio retailers will do now, with a large company like that dropping out of the race.

Well we may have jumped the gun on this thing. From what I can tell only select stores have done this. I think the other two stores in Tulsa area have car audio still.

Yes there is a third Best Buy right off I-75 across the river.. Didn't know it was there. There is also a lowes and all kinds of stuff out there.

Well both of us are just not observant... I was at the 71st store a week ago and was telling my brother I couldn't believe they got rid of the car audio section as we walked up to the location of the old car audio.

He turned around and pointed out the car audio section on the other side of the store right next to the guitar section... I'd like to believe they have added it since we brought this up but odds are its been there all along

Yeah really... Maybe they should focus on keeping customer happy with pheasable prices instead of screwing us for every cent they can.
